“Snowquester” (3.6.13)

Here in DC we are weather starved. We don’t get little interesting weather. We’re not in a tornado alley. We rarely are targeted by hurricanes. The earth is solid under our feet. It gets uncomfortably hot and humid in the summer and sort-of-cold in winter. Lately, not cold enough even to snow. DC has gone over 700 days without snowfall over two inches. This was supposed to change on March 6th, 2013. The unofficially named “Snowquester” storm was promised to bring at least several inches of snow – maybe even approaching a foot if things went well. The past snow storms I never made it into the city…but this time was different. For two reasons: first, I got into the city and second, the weather forecasters totally blew the forecast. Little snow. Mostly cold, soaking rain.
