On one of the last days in China, we went on a Erguotou factory tour. Erguotou is a type of their noxious grain alcohol they drink. Unfortunately our tour group was pretty rambunctious (not from any free booze – which we got very little of to my surprise, considering that you can get a large bottle for about one USD) so we did not learn too much. Still, I love seeing how things are made. The only things I learned was that they use fermented sorghum and they take multiple distillations of it for different forms of the grain alcohol.
